Duncan Cowles

BAFTA Scotland Award winning documentary filmmaker whose catalogue of short films have screened at A-list film festivals such as BFI London Film Festival and won awards at Glasgow Short Film Festival, Open City Documentary Festival, BFI Future Film Festival, Royal Television Society and Hamburg Short Film Festival alongside numerous nominations such Best British Short film at the London Critics Awards 2016 & 2017. In 2020 BBC Scotland commissioned Duncan’s original proposal for a 6x 30-minute documentary series, “Scary Adult Things” which looked at the everyday lives and struggles of the millennial generation. Additionally, he has been commissioned to write and direct short docs for Channel 4, STV, BBC Scotland, BBC Radio 4, TED, Adobe, Red Bull and more. He also teaches filmmaking workshops and is currently working on his first feature-length theatrical documentary due 2024.
