Register - Locations - Film Edinburgh

Production companies employ the services of location managers to find the setting for their script, and location managers often contact regional film offices like Film Edinburgh. If you own, or manage, a property, you may wish to consider registering your property with us as a possible location.

You can register your property with us by completing this form. Once you have submitted the form we will be in touch. Our privacy policy outlines how we look after your data.

From 1 April 2019, there will be a one-off admin fee of £50 (plus VAT) for new locations to register with Film Edinburgh, to cover the costs associated with visiting and photo library management.

How it works
We work from a script or a location breakdown and send photos to filmmakers of all the locations which might work for the production. Filmmakers also have the chance to browse our online locations library where a selection of the photos in our library are published. Being on our locations register doesn't guarantee that a company will use your property, but it does mean that it will be looked at by every production for which it could work. Similarly, by signing up, owners are not committing to accepting every production that comes up. They are simply saying they're interested and open to start a conversation with the filmmakers.
