Baby Reindeer

Clerkenwell Films was brave enough to film Richard Gadd's Baby Reindeer in the middle of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. For those who know the Fringe, you will understand that having any kind of control of the huge numbers of people in the city at that time of year is a challenge! But Clerkenwell wanted to show the Fringe as it is, performers and crowds and all.

Film Edinburgh encouraged them to look into filming with a reduced crew on the Royal Mile. There are great shots of performers and activity in the Fringe High Street, and a lovely shot through Robertson's Close on to the Royal Mile and St Giles Cathedral, all achieved with minimal impact. Meanwhile Film Edinburgh facilitated the production's filming at The Hoppy in Meadowbank, in Summerhall (which was the venue for the Fringe show version of Baby Reindeer), and in The Meadows.
