Murder Is Easy

One of Agatha Christie's lesser-known mysteries, MURDER IS EASY centres around Fitzwilliam, a Nigerian gent, who finds himself in the village of Wychwood Under Ashe, a picturesque village near London, whose villagers are being murdered.

With the whole production based in Scotland, the production team looked all over the country for a fit for the village of Wychood Under Ashe and discovered Tyninghame in East Lothian. Producer Karen Kelly described how she found an old photo of Tyninghame from the 1940s which matched it perfectly, and in fact very little needed to be done to it even now - just a few greens, and some signage covered up. The production filmed in the village for a week in the summer of 2023, working closely with East Lothian Council and very much the residents of the village, making sure that villagers' lives were disrupted as little as possible.

In addition to Tyninghame, Murder is Easy filmed at Preston Mill, a National Trust for Scotland property also in East Lothian. We will have to wait to see where it crops up in the series.
