Teacup Travels

Teacup Travels is an innovative, live-action series that fills a unique
space in children’s television worldwide: historical fiction set in an
adventure storybook landscape.

Produced for CBeebies by Plum Films, each of the 25 episodes is centred around the relationship between two inquisitive children called Charlotte and Elliot and the magical adventures they go on to ancient civilisations across the globe. All are made possible by the stories told to them by their Great Aunt Lizzie (played by BAFTA award-winning actress Gemma Jones), with the very essence of the series being all about “Discovery through Adventure.”

Filmed entirely on location in in Edinburgh (Princes Street Gardens) and Musselburgh, the production team included double Academy Award Winner Leslie Dilley (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark), with the series soundtrack recorded live by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
