The Outrun

Nora Fingsheidt's adaptation of Amy Liptrot's novel, starring Saoirce Ronan, is a visceral depiction of addiction and of finding peace in nature. As well as filming on Orkney, scenes set in London were flimed in Edinburgh, including the brutal attack by the driver, the nightclub sequences, the London flat interiors and underwater sequences.

Location spotters may recognise Claremont Court (designed by the architect Basil Spence), Drumsheugh Baths, Wester Hailes, Kings Buildings and Lulu night club. Further underwater sequences were filmed in the tank at FirstStage Studios.
