DEVIL MAY CARE is a new entertainment production company based in Edinburgh. DEVIL MAY CARE aims to produce a range of original content, primarily feature films and television drama series, for the international market. The company will work with both established and emerging writers and directors and projects will cover a range of genres, formats and platforms, responding to market demand and the changing landscape of content creation and consumption.
Additionally, the company will facilitate international co-productions, acting as Scottish co-producer for international producers looking to take advantage of our diverse and breath-taking filming locations, highly skilled world-class crews and competitive incentives built to work in conjunction with the UK Creative Industries Tax Relief.
BIOGRAPHY
Ross McKenzie set up the Edinburgh-based production company DEVIL MAY CARE ENTERTAINMENT earlier this year to produce original content, primarily feature films and television drama series, for the international market.
Prior to this, as a Film & TV Executive, Ross worked extensively across development and production within the UK Screen industries, most recently at Screen Scotland where he was Executive Producer across a range of feature films, feature documentaries and television series including Scott Graham’s ‘Run’, Annabel Jankel’s period drama ‘Tell it to the Bees’, Paul Wright’s archive documentary ‘Arcadia’ and Ben Sharrock’s upcoming refugee drama ‘Limbo’.
Before joining Screen Scotland, Ross worked in feature film production. He produced Michael Pearce’s 2011 BAFTA and BIFA nominated short film ‘Rite’ and has worked for a number of organisations in the UK including Capitol Films, Bard Entertainments, the UK Film Council (and subsequently BFI), Paramount Worldwide Acquisitions Group, The Weinstein Company and Film London. He is a graduate of the Media Business School in Spain.
