Tiger Aspect's new TV game show Armchair Detectives, hosted by Susan Calman (Strictly Come Dancing 2017), launched this week. Three amateur sleuths try to solve a fictional murder after meeting the suspects and uncovering the clues.
Like Midsommer Murders, Armchair Detectives sees a series of terrible crimes taking place in the fictional town of Mortcliff. Residents of East Lothian may recognise parts of Mortcliff as locations in Tranent, Longniddry, Cockenzie/Port Seton, North Berwick, Inveresk and Gullane.
Tiger Aspect chose East Lothian as the base for the show and shot the series here over a period of 5 weeks in summer 2017, shining the spotlight on what the region has to offer filmmakers in terms of locations, crew and film-friendly procedures. East Lothian's Filming Charter came into its own, with filmmakers and the Council working together closely to facilitate the shoot.
But don't get distracted by location spotting; there's a murder to be solved.
