First Look: Avengers in Edinburgh

The first trailer for the highly anticipated superhero film Avengers: Infinity War was released today, featuring Edinburgh's Waverley Station, Cockburn Street and India Buildings.

The nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War is a sequel to 2012’s The Avengers (the fifth highest grossing film of all time) and 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron (the seventh highest grossing film of all time). The ensemble sees the Avengers (which includes Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and Black Widow) team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to battle supervillain, Thanos. One of the world’s biggest and beloved movie franchises, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.

Filmed partly on location in Edinburgh over seven weeks, Avengers: Infinity War was the largest and most complex shoot ever to film in Edinburgh's historic Old Town and city centre. The production saw over 400 crew members working on the shoot, following three months of pre-production and several months of preparation in advance of this, working closely with Film Edinburgh and the City of Edinburgh Council. In total the production generated an estimated £10 million plus for the city region in economic impact.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on April 27, 2018. In the meantime, you can watch the first trailer below.
