Emily Frances Ippolito

Emily Frances Ippolito is a skilled composer with a deep love for music and its power to evoke emotions in film. She composed for the award-winning short movie "Sonya" by director Pablo Florencio, winning the Best Original Score at the Gothamite Film Awards in August 2022. She has also worked on other significant projects, like her debut feature film, "The Difference Between Us," directed by Etienne Kubwabo.

Emily comes from a varied background, having worked on a range of short films, such as ‘The Fuscos’, a crime drama set in 1975, directed by Jennie Girardo. She also scored the music for ‘Curiosity’, a short horror film by Michael Cooke, ‘One Way’, an animated film by Verónica Valdeón Noya, and ‘Tide’, a film by Mark Zerop. Her work covers various genres, including animation, horror, and drama.

She holds a master's degree from the University of Edinburgh's Music Composition for Screen program. Beyond her career in music, Emily is also a writer, currently in the process of creating a children's picture book series, "Teyla Kai’s Adventures." The first book, "The Lost Wings," is now in the market, with the second, "The Candy Dimension," available on Amazon and The Great British Bookshop. Emily is originally from Oregon, USA, and now resides in Edinburgh, Scotland.
