The Lost King
Stephen Frears directed feature film about the discovery of the remains of King Richard III by Edinburgh academic Philippa Langley. After years of searching, overcoming several obstacles along the way, Langley found the King's skeleton beneath a car park in Leicester more than five centuries after he had been killed on Bosworth Field.
Starring Sally Hawkins and Steve Coogan, who also wrote the screenplay, the film was shot entirely on location in Edinburgh over two months in 2021. Expect to see locations in Morningside, Trinity, Stockbridge, Bruntsfield, South Bridge, as well as University of Edinburgh, Waverley Station, Princes Street Gardens and Inverleith Park.
